Camberwell Sports & Spinal Medicine’s podiatrists assess, diagnose and treat medical conditions and injuries of the foot and lower limb.
We will walk more than 128,000 kilometres in our lifetime – equivalent to three times around the world but our feet are often our most neglected body part. Understanding the complex structure of the 26 bones, 33 joints; more than 100 muscles, tendons and ligaments that make up the foot and ankle requires skills and expertise.
Our Podiatrists treat a wide range of conditions. This may include skin and nail problems, foot and ankle injuries or more complex biomechanical problems to do with gait and walking.
Common problems treated by Podiatrists include sporting injuries such as sprains and stress fractures, plantar fascia pain, Achilles tendonitis or more chronic conditions such as numbness and poor circulation; bunions, hammertoes, growing pains, ingrown toenails, blisters, corns and calluses.
To do this our Podiatry team has access to the most up to date technology including our Gait analysis service – an in-depth examination into the way you walk and run. Using a treadmill, high speed video recorder and specialised biomechanical analysis software, walking and running technique is assessed frame by frame to detect any biomechanical faults, the suitability of footwear or orthotic care or progress of exercises and rehabilitation.
Whether it’s monitoring children’s growth and development, managing sports injuries, disabilities or the ageing population, our team prides itself on providing expert, comprehensive foot care solutions.
We are proud of our strong reputation and maintain our commitment to the highest standards of care.
